Dress Code
The Sree Krishna Temple maintains traditional aesthetics and dress regulations. Strict compliance is mandatory for all pilgrims.
Entry Will Be Denied for Inappropriate Attire
Security staff at the Gopuram gates inspect all devotees. If you are not dressed in accordance with the traditional rules, you will not be permitted inside the inner temple grounds.
Guidelines for Men
Allowed Attire:
- **Mundu (Dhoti / Veshti):** Traditional white or saffron cotton cloth wrapped around the waist.
- **Bare Upper Body:** Men must remain bare-chested inside the inner temple complex.
- **Angavastram (Shawl):** A small traditional shawl or towel is permitted to be worn over the shoulder or chest.
Strictly Prohibited:
- Shirts, T-shirts, vests, coats, or sweaters.
- Trousers, jeans, shorts, lungis (colored or patterned), or pajamas.
- Leather items (belts, wallets, bags).
Guidelines for Women
Allowed Attire:
- **Saree:** Traditional Indian saree.
- **Salwar Kameez / Churidar:** Set with a *Dupatta* (shawl), which must be properly draped over the chest.
- **Half Saree (Pattu Pavada):** Traditional skirt and blouse for younger girls/women.
Strictly Prohibited:
- Jeans, trousers, cargo pants, tracksuits, or leggings.
- Midi dresses, skirts (except traditional full-length ones), tops, or shirts.
- Modern western sleeveless or transparent tops.
Footwear & Belongings Policy
No footwear (shoes, sandals, slippers, or socks) is allowed within the outer walls of the temple. Devotees must leave footwear at the designated free footwear counters outside the Eastern or Western Nada. Leather belts and electronic devices (phones, cameras, power banks) are also prohibited. We highly recommend wearing simple slip-on footwear and leaving all valuables in your hotel room.
